Mental Health Emergency

If this is a mental health emergency, you can, in no particular order:

  1. Call or text 988 – Suicide Crisis Helpline
  2. Text 686868 – Kids Help Phone
    – You will get three texts, explaining how the process works and will be asked for some information on what type of crisis you are experiencing (What’s on your mind?)
    – They will then connect you to a Crisis Responder – it may take a few minutes. Please be patient.
  3. Phone 1-866-661-3311 – Senior Distress Line
    – If the lines are busy, you will be put on hold
    – If you prefer silence, rather than music, just press any key (you may hear some beeps from time to time to let you know you are still on hold)
  4. Phone 1-800-563-0808 – Victim LinkBC Line
    – Support program for victims of crime and trauma across B.C. and Yukon
    – They will connect you to resources near you
  5. Phone 1-877-820-7444 – Fraser Health Crisis Line
    – If there are sufficient volunteers, someone will answer right away
    – I was informed there  might be time when you need to leave a message for someone to call you back (someone answered every time I called so I am not sure of that part of the process)
  6. Attend the nearest local hospital for immediate assistance.

Thank you for your patience.
